Grow Local Takeaways

As a certified Google Partner Agency we were offered the opportunity to host our first Grow Local meet at our office. The purpose of Grow Local is to give agencies a platform in which they’re able to connect with local businesses. More specifically, the idea is to give these businesses an opportunity to learn about how digital marketing could grow their business online.

As this was the first time we had hosted the Grow Local event, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect and how much our small business attendees were going to get out of the hangout. However, after sitting through an intriguing session that covered the following:

  • Getting Noticed Online (Panel Discussion)
  • Be Found in Search on Mobile (Keynote Presentation)

It became clear that the hangout was going to be of great use to everyone involved (obviously!) and I’m pleased to say it was a resounding success with some excellent points to take away. So, for anyone who was unable to attend, we thought it would be useful to put together an infographic based on what was discussed.

Note: Remember, the information in the infographic below comes straight from the horse’s mouth. Ignore at your peril!

The message that Google were trying to get across to everyone tuned in was clear – don’t be fooled into thinking that your mobile strategy can wait as “it’s only mobile users that are missing out”. If you haven’t done so already, this is something that urgently needs considering in 2015 as the gulf between mobile & desktop is just going to increase.

The year of the mobile is well and truly upon us, embrace it with a well thought out, well structured mobile strategy. If you’re struggling to know what needs to be done to take full advantage of this information, contact us and we’ll be more than happy to talk through some of our recommendations.

If you’re interested in what you’ve read so far and want to explore in more detail, we’ve included the entire Google Hangout below for you to enjoy!
