Film Brand Connections, has recently gone live.
Behind the Scenes
Film producers Filmtree and the Government film agency UK Film Council were given the remit of promoting the commercial opportunities of linking brands with films, by tapping into marketing professionals that work with brands on a day to day basis.
Haymarket is one of the industry leading providers of marketing news and content, and with a loyal marketing following it made perfect sense for the companies to partner up and collectively launch an exciting new microsite which would target marketing professionals and promote the profitable relationships that can be had between brands and films.
The Big Reveal
Film Brand Connections was the result. The microsite’s design is clean, eye-catching and distinctive and seeks to make users aware of the commercial opportunities available and draw them further into the site.
The microsite offers a full keyword search facility and features ‘Focus On’ articles which give in depth information on British actors and iconic films over the past few decades, complete with image and video capability.
A ‘Features’ page displays articles on how films and brands can work together and highlight the opportunities available to brands, complete with images and video content.
The latest News, ‘Features’ and ‘Focus On’ articles are displayed in dynamic boxes on the homepage, which automatically update whenever new content is added to grab users' attention, ensure fresh content is publicised and to drive people to these destination pages. A video container on the homepage also displays speeches from key figures in the film and marketing industries.

As the campaign is a year-long initiative, we built a simple to use content management system which enables Haymarket to regularly add, edit and delete content throughout the site, as well as upload images/video content which can be scaled to size. To give articles and news stories a professional looking finish, we ensured text could be aligned around any image/video content that was inserted. Haymarket can also add useful resources to their articles which users can download for reference.
As with all our content management systems we ensured the system was built with search engines in mind by incorporating META data boxes and a friendly URL auto filler, as well as page title and alt tag boxes for Haymarket to fill in with relevant keywords.
An interactive quiz game was also integrated which displays as a pop up on the site when played. The game consists of both closed and open ended questions and is content managed so that Haymarket can frequently update the game with new questions. At the end of the quiz players can submit their details which are stored in the backend, which Haymarket can download as a CSV file.
To complement the new microsite we also created a page peel promotion to sit on Haymarket’s Brand Republic website. Hovering over the graphic results in the page automatically peeling down to reveal a larger promotion for Film Brand Connections underneath.
